My Hero Academia:

If you watch anime, then chances are you would have either come across this anime at some point or atleast heard of it. It has been almost 10 years since its first release, and it has finally come to an end with its final season, which consisted of 11 episodes, with its last episode premiered in December 2025.

I still remember how I started watching this anime. I first heard of this anime after its first season had completed but at that time, I brushed it off just by looking at its season 1 poster cover, (yes, I know, I’m the kind of person who judges a book by its cover) I thought, the anime would just be a cheap knockoff of some superhero story and I still feel embarrassed about that even today.

However, one of my friends (who has almost identical taste in anime and games with me, so much that it feels like we are sharing our brain cells), asked me if I watched this anime and when I shared my thoughts about this anime, he forced strongly recommended me this anime almost every single day until I finally started watching it. I’m still grateful to him to this day.

My Hero Academia, became one of my favorite anime in no time and it still holds that place even today.

Although, the story of Izuku Midoriya has come to an end, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will continue. Season 2 had been confirmed to premiere on January 5, 2025. Additionally, at jump festa 2026 (held days ago in December 2025) four Projects were announced to celebrate the anime’s 10th anniversary in 2026. Two of these projects have been revealed, out of which, one is going to be a special episode featuring Deku.

Bonus: My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, a newly announced game by Bandai Namco, is set to release on February 6, 2026, and is already available for pre-purchase on Steam.

Final thoughts on My Hero Academia:

Over time, the anime grew really close to my heart. I loved how it focused not only on heroes but on villains as well, along with its deep story line, amazing character development, best music (You Say Run, Red Riot, Mirio Togata Theme, etc) and top tier animation. I feel really grateful that the anime was able to maintain its consistency from start to finish and received a proper ending that unfortunately many other anime did not (The Seven Deadly Sins, The Rising of the Shield Hero, One Punch Man etc).

If you have not watched My Hero Academia yet, I would highly recommend giving it a chance. It has a lot to keep you hooked and it definitely won’t disappoint.
